Seven Lamar CISD campuses have been recognized for their accountability and commitment to student success through the Solution Tree
Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work process. Campuses received recognition at two levels: Promising Practices and Model PLC, representing both early and advanced stages of PLC implementation.
Promising Practices Campuses
Four campuses received the Promising Practices distinction for demonstrating strong early success in implementing the PLC at Work process. To earn this recognition, schools must show at least one year of student achievement growth and a solid foundation in PLC practices.
- Bowie Elementary
- Huggins Elementary
- Lindsey Elementary
- Morgan Elementary
Model PLC Campuses
Model PLC campuses demonstrate the highest level of implementation, with collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and targeted student support fully integrated into campus culture. To receive this distinction, campuses must show three years of consistent student achievement growth. Three Lamar CISD campuses earned the prestigious Model PLC at Work recognition.
- Arredondo Elementary
- Ryon Middle School
- Foster High School
Recognized campuses at Lamar CISD show teamwork, shared accountability, and a commitment to student success. Through team planning, careful review of student learning, and targeted support, each campus works to ensure every student receives an elite education.
“At Bowie Elementary, accountability means collective ownership for student learning. The PLC at Work process helps us stay focused on clear expectations, common goals, and shared responsibility,” Bowie Elementary Principal Katherine Lange said. “By regularly examining student work and data together, we hold ourselves accountable not to the results, ensuring every student and teacher receives the support they need, when they need it.”
Understanding PLC Tiers
Solution Tree recently expanded its PLC recognition system under the DuFour and Eaker Recognition program. This change allows schools at different stages of the PLC process to be recognized.
The Promising Practices tier highlights early achievements in the PLC process. Schools can move on to higher levels of recognition, including the Model PLC at Work and Ambassador Model PLC, as they continue to grow.
A Solution Tree Evidence of Effectiveness (EOE) Review Committee evaluates all campus applications and determines each school’s tier placement.
