During the Regular Board Meeting on May 19, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees announced its leadership officers for the 2026–2027 school year, selecting three trustees to serve in key roles that will help guide the district’s continued work in support of students, staff, and families.

The Board elected the following officers:
  • Jacci Hotzel, President
  • George Arroyos, Vice President
  • Vanessa Marsters, Secretary

These officers will serve alongside fellow trustees and Superintendent Dr. Roosevelt Nivens in helping oversee district priorities, support strategic decision-making, and ensure Lamar CISD remains focused on student success.

“The strength of Lamar CISD is built on leadership, service, and a shared commitment to doing what is best for students,” said Dr. Roosevelt Nivens, Superintendent of Lamar CISD. “We are grateful for the dedication of these trustees and look forward to working together as we continue building on the excellence our community expects and deserves.”

As the district’s policy-making body and official representative of the public in matters of education, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees works to establish goals, adopt policies, oversee financial stewardship, and support the district’s mission of preparing students for success.

The Board’s leadership for the 2026–2027 school year will continue that work with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and service to one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas.
